Hey,

Are you still looking for one. I have one that I'm gonna get rid off. Let me know if you want pics... its in great condition, the only thing is the tip of the strainer broke some point in its life and that someone drilled two extra holes on the shell (cant be seen with the head on). Other than that its in great condition.

Also technically a 4214 model, my favourite snare! I hate too be an enabler, but these are fantastic snares! Snap, Crackle, Pop! If I had enough budget for a COB Supra I would buy 5 of these suckers instead! Sorry if these get me so riled up.....

Pretty sure it's a B4514; and a guy had a 70s era, new old stock that just sold on another forum. Great sounding drums.

From Mo Tonkie

Pretty sure it's a B4514; and a guy had a 70s era, new old stock that just sold on another forum. Great sounding drums.

The B4514 and 4214 are basically the snare with different model numbers depending on catalogue years. I believe that the only obvious difference is the position of the vent hole, which is higher up in the 3 lines on the shell on the 4214.

Well, I was sure until you said that. The drum I had looks exactly like the one pictured with the tone control at right of the snare throw and the vent at below the 3 lines.

Is the drum in the below link a 4514?

Hey Mo & funkypoodle!

That was my ad. I had it for sale here and on the DFO. I wasn't sure on exact model as I am not well versed in Pearl snares, however, it was a super nice one! I actually might have a lead on another one that I may take a look at this week that my buddy is selling.

Thanks for the input here!

Ya, that was an exceptional drum and a good deal.

Did you find a date on the box anywhere as for a hint the date of manufacture?

I have the 6.5 x 14 Jupiter with parallel snares, but it's missing some parts for the strainer. I don't know what to do with it. Nobody has the strainer for sale. I'm buying some MIJ snare with a parallel strainer and fingers crossed I can use that or harvest it for parts. There's one on UK eBay in rough condition, but it looks to be a 6.5 x 14

Here's the item # 111870316721

Good luck! They're great sounding snare drums.

Hey Mo,

The box for the snare was long gone, but it was in it's original plastic bag, which protected it nicely. Didn't see a date anywhere - it's usually the first thing I look for.
