Is this Buddy on Mardi Gras?

Loading...

First time I see this video. Enjoy it too if you too haven't seen it before. Looks like a B&B Rogers in Constellation configuration and Mardi Gras Pearl. Drumming starts jut before 3 minutes.

Looked to me to be like it could be a Mardi Gras set. I also wondered if it could have been an English built kit? Love the way the hi hat shaft totally failed under his playing. Pre memory lock days.

Kwicherbichin' about back line drums at gigs. There was only one floor tom, no splash or crash cymbal, an anemic hi-hat stand, no canister throne. It looked as though Buddy was sitting much lower than usual on that bar stool. The snare drum top rim was very high. But, Buddy was Buddy. he was his usual amazing self.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Yeah, he was pretty good. Mind Blowi

You could fast forward through a video of me playing and my hands would still appear slower than BR's.

Stop stringing and tuning your instrument, make music now.

Looked like black diamond pearl. Buddy never ceases to amaze me every time, and I've been watching him for well over forty years. How could a human being do what he did? I'll never know.

That rack tom looks really deep doesn't it? Looks like it not a standard 8" x 12" or 9" x 13". It looks more like a power tom.

Looks like they just pulled a kit out of storage for him to play, maybe he and the band were in the area and did an impromptu sit in on the show. None the less he was just amazing and doing all that in a suit!
