Is this a Rogers snare? Last viewed: 47 minutes ago

Loading...

Acquired this snare over 10 years ago from a friend. Not sure who made it though! Only leaning towards rogers because the rogers head but I know this could mean nothing.

Drum has no badge and never did while I owned it. All parts still work great.

What do I have here? What is it worth? Needs new heads and a good cleanup but other than that is in good shape.

Any info would be great thanks!

That drum is fairly valuable. For a kid whose parents cannot afford band rental, or purchase, that might make the difference between listening to music, and making music.

No, it is not a Rogers. It is a Pearl, made in Japan, steel shelled snare.

It can sound decent if set up correctly with

new, correct type heads and attention to set up of the snare wires.

In my experience the hoops on those drums are very thin & sometimes warped (easy to check on a piece of glass) so they either won't tune or stay in tune, 'specially if you do a lot of hard rimshots like I do, that's how I know :)

Easy fix though, get some 2.3 mm hoops.
