Still not good Kev. I use beeswax, goes on looking wet like water and dries without a sheen until your tenth coat or so !i

It still continues to boggle the mind how a simple piece of information can be refuted. It is nothing more than one man's method. Take it or don't. Learn or don't. As always, you own your drums. Do whatever you wish. We all are students and are still learning.

I use orange or lemon oil, but very little. On a snare shell, I'd guess that less than half a teaspoon on the entire interior. Put a few drops on a cloth, wipe, repeat. Generally would do this only on a shell looking very dry/neglected. No way that this small amount will affect the sound.
