Installing An Eyelet On A Metal Snare

Loading...

Hello everyone,

I've got a Ludwig snare that I bought which never had a badge, it looks naked without one. I finally acquired a B/O badge and wanted to put it on.

Since the shell thickness is naturally much thinner than that of a wooden drum, is there anything that I need to put on the eyelet like a metal washer so as to not crimp or damage the metal around the air vent? Or just put the eyelet on without anything like I would a regular drum?

Wanted to ask before making a horrible mistake.

Thanks very much for any info.

some of the acrolites had grommets without spacers. but many of the metal Ludwig drums have the spacer on the back side of the grommet.

I usually contact this ebay seller if I need one. he's got 'em...

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

So this is a special grommet for Ludwig metal snares (even though it doesn't mention the word "metal"), goes straight into the vent hole, nothing else needed?

I guess I can drop them a line and ask before purchasing.

Thanks again,

Denny
