Identify my drums,please!

Loading...

Don´t know a lot about them.I think they ´ve been built betwenn 1975 and 1980.

Sizes are 12,13,16,22".

The only brand that stands on the the top of the bassdrum is "Oakland/Japan".

Does anybody know, which company produced these drums or drumseries?

.

It would be great, if so knows something about it!!

Or it could be Hoshino, that produced the brand"Luxor"?

ne thing I can add,but I dont know if its true.

There was a producer named Hoshino Kougyou, who exported Oakland Drums to Europe.

This was not Hoshino Gakki, what is TAMA.

Does anybody know this producer?Does he still exist?

I even heard they produced in the same japanese city as TAMA

They look like early 70s so-called Japanese "stencil" kits. The manufacturer was almost always Pearl or Tama (I'm guessing Pearl here) - then the local distributor stuck on their own various brands - and these are many and varied (there is a whole section in here on the various brands so far identified). I think most of us in here had a beginner kit like these.

Great,

thanks for those Infos. Do you know, what it could be worth today?A friend of mine has seen the Toms on EBAY for about 700 €.

If that is true,I would sell this Set and buy a new one.

#THX

I haven't checked but I would have guessed half or less of that price you quote. There will probably be a collector thing about them at some point but it's not happening to any extent yet. Unless you were very lucky, they were just not that good.

You'll often see them referred to in here as "Asian firewood" which pretty much sums up my attitude as well (I couldn't get rid of my Riviera kit fast enough once I played a Premier).

Interesting, though, that it has a 10 lug kick drum.....and a reasonable number of lugs on the toms also.

I would have guessed Pearl also, but look at the lugs. Total Rogers knock-off.

I have a mid-late 70's stencil kit and it has the classic Pearl diamond shaped lugs witht he center bead running up and down.

These lugs look quite different. A picture of the inside of the shells would really help here. Grain running up and down, almost certainly japanese.

From wayne

They sure look like they are influenced by Pearl drums...Tom holder looks like it could work??

It doesn´t really work, that´s why I want to replace it with the new Pearl-holder-system,but didn´t have the money yet.

Thanks to all,who tried to help until now.I appreciate your knowledge!!!!!!

To sum up I think it´s a Pearl, that was distributed by an wholesale company with the name "Oakland".Build between ´70 and ´79. It seems as if noone really has heard that name "Oakland/Japan" before.

Where can I find out,how much the value is nowadays? Help2
