I may have found a way to brighten the appearance of old felt beaters.
It's a car restoration/fix up spray dye made by Dupli-Color. I don't know if it's a dye... it just says "Vinyl & Farbic Coating."
Bought a can of white at Auto Zone. Used a wire brush to clean the crud and dust accumulation off the beater.
Tape up the cap and rod, and start sprayin' the beater. The felt REALLY soaks it up.
I finished one for the recent build. After I took these pics, I used a wire brush to kind of take the 'too new' down a notch. I haven't road tested this to see how it wears, but what's the worst that could happen?
Just an idea...may work great... if it doesn't, it won't be awful..... what the heck?
I'm sure open to other suggestions!
