Is there any way to ID a Ping cymbal other than someone saying"This is a PING "

Are we talking Avedis Zildjian? Or did some other company offer a specific PING model?
Avedis Zildjian PING cymbals came out in the 1950s (so says their web site) and had ink saying PING on them. On most cymbals that ink is gone now. If the cymbal is from the 1940s and earlier than it probably isn't a PING model. If it is later then it might be a PING model. Compared to another model like a RIDE from the same production era, the PING will have a bit higher profile (amount of rise or curvature in the bow) and a bit heavier weight.
If you have a specific diameter and production era you are considering I've got more data than is currently on my site so I might have weight bands which help figure out what is "a bit heavier than a medium ride". Other than that, you listen to it and it should have a relatively strong ping and not too much wash.
