+1 for sure!!
Kelly don't laugh......but I did the same thing with a 12"x15" marcher shell. I tried a Evans reso glass head on the reso and it's much too thin. Wrinkles at the snare bed. So perhaps a thicker G1-2 or Remo Amb might fit the bill better. Anyway here's the don't laugh part. I didn't want to use wood filler or anything for the snare beds. In case I want to use it as a snare again. But was having a major issue getting the reso head tuned low enough where the wrinkles didn't rattle and go bzzzzztttt. I took duct tape and rolled a bit up end to end with the sticky side out. It's about the right width. Just enough to sit in the snare bed and push down level. It was just a experiment to see if it would tune better to a lower pitch and it did! Worked so well I left it in there. One of my many drum hacks. Now I want to make it a snare drum again so I'm glad I didn't fill the snare beds with anything. I see your has the Classic strainer too. Hang onto that!!! Nice drum and Nevin for sure is a first class guy!!
