Humidity/moisture at gig...

Loading...

Hi guys and thanks for help with previous post regarding volume/ we are OUTDOORS now in the Midwest with flooding and rain storms every other day it seems- my question- we played a gig last night outside and the humidity was tropical.... I wiped heads after each song and worried about possible damage- I am using my 1968 Ludwig champagne sparkle but mostly concerned with triggers and electronic sampling pad- they were WET when cased up- but I opened all cases and left them out in my shop after the gig to air dry- should I do something more to make sure all is 'okay' or am I being too concerned over nothing --- (it was beading up and dripping off and the cases were as if they had been sprayed with a garden hose!) I wiped down and left all elevated but the small switches on the trigger/sample pad worry me- how long to wait? Use a hair dryer? Other info? Thanks again guys- DJ

The drums will be ok, just make sure you dry them off well if that happens again (which I'm sure you did). As for the electronics.. your guess is as good as mine with those.. electronics can be finicky pieces of equipment. Maybe try putting the triggers in a container of uncooked rice for a day in order to draw out the moisture... people have done this with cell phones that were dropped in water and it works some of the time.

Good luck!
