Prototype? More like an experiment gone horribly wrong!!
Looks like he used alternating lugs, one to tension the heads and the next to pull the two drums together. Without opposing tension on each lug (pot metal) some have broken. What a mess!
I guess this auction would be a way to pick up two supraphonics, minus some parts.
My neighbors dogs were stuck like that one time!
I thought that someone may have updated this by now, but no. They (it?) sold for $277, which I hope is the parts value for two shells with broken lugs and missing parts? Hurting
