Hey guys...if anyone has run into this situation and solved it , please let me know!!
I'm putting together an all Gretsch 1960s round badge set.
The Snare, bass drum and Floor tom are all 1960s Gretsch Blue Sparkle, which now has faded to a slight bluish-green. They have all faded pretty much evenly, so no problem there. Actually, you only notice the fading when you hold a piece of new Blue Sparkle wrap up to them..then you see the difference.
The problem is the mounted tom. It has no wrap, so I bought a nice piece of Blue Sparkle wrap from Precision Drum Company to re-wrap it.
The problem is the fade...the new piece of wrap looks different than the existing 1960s wrap. It looks more "blue".
So...what to do? Is there a way of fading the new piece of wrap? Or does anyone make a slightly faded Blue Sparkle wrap?
Any thoughts or suggestion, I'm all ears!!!
Thanks guys.
