I started it at $425 on marketplace (I will definitely come off that price though). I'm contemplating putting it on craigslist...such a pain dealing with all the spam etc.

I recently sold all the hardware (cymbal, hi hat and snare stands) that came with the Rogers Big R kit I restored. All were listed locally on Craigslist. While I did have to deal with some scam messages, all hardware went to really nice people and it was great to meet all of them!

If I can't sell them on marketplace after a week or two, I will probably list them on craigslist.

Moved the price down to $350. I had one guy come and look at it and he said it looked like a "starter kit" because of the 20" kick drum. I plainly stated the dimensions of all of the drums in my description. This happened one other time with a different kit I sold one time....had a 20" kick. I met the guy about 25 minutes from my house to only get him to say the kick looked too small...listed that one in the description as well. Very frustrating! I just listed it on craigslist now too...maybe it will sell on there.

That's a solid price for an all-original kit in outstanding condition. Even though it's a common wrap, there is no fading or other damage. These looked like they just came out of the boxes. Someone is going to get a good deal.

Have you posted it in the "For Sale" section here on the forum? I know you would get some interest for sure. Yes, you would most likely have to ship, but you know they would go to a loving home.

For the record, I would be tempted, but I have an MIJ blue Sparkle already in those same sizes. But still.................I'm tempted. Those look so darn good!

My MIJ 20" kick sounds rock solid and has a big sound. Probably the best sounding drum on my kit!

Personally, I wouldn't go below $350. Those drums are worth it. Hold out if you can.

Yeah...I think people who haven't heard a 20" kick in action realize how good they can sound.

I recently bought and restored a mostly Torodor kit. They were also blue sparkle with snare. They came with a very nice Ludwig 1121 HH stand which I kept and restored. The drums were cleaned and reheaded, matched with a nice Tama BD pedal and a Pearl HH stand, Camber hats and a cymbal stand and Italian crash. Had them sounding pretty good. I “paid it forward” on these and let them go to an older acquaintance at work who uses them weekly at a senior center jam session. Gave him all that for $200 which broke me even(and still had the 1121). I probably could have gotten $300 for them otherwise, but the MIJ just doesn’t bring the money unless it’s a rare/unique finish imo.

I think $300 is all the money on your kit, unless you can find a guy locally that has to have them.

Even the most common sparkle finishes are becoming harder to find in the MIJ world, at least in VGC like the OPs. So I think he shouldn't go below 350.

But hey, it's just one man's opinion.:)
