How do you all store your cymbals?

From bermuda

I keep mine stored vertically, as most drum shops do. As far as keeping them from scratching, I'm not overly concerned about that, so I have no problem storing them like so:And(these are hi-hats, roughly 115 pair - I now have 138 pair.)I have a few more such cubby holes. :)Bermuda

*in Borat voice* Very nice!!

Not to be a noodge, but I am curious...how do you keep track of all of those? I mean, how do you remember which cymbals you have?

All of my cymbals are on stands, in the "ready to get blasted" position around my kit. I guess if I ever amass any more cymbals, I will probably hang them from the 6 by 6 elk head in my garage with a piece of wire or something. I hung the hoops and rims from the horns when I was cleaning my kit up and that worked out pretty good. They never got scuffed or damaged.

have a wonderful evening

Each cymbal has a code under the bell, which helps a lot in keeping hats paired as they originally started out. It also allows me to differentiate between multiple, common cymbals. For example, I have 16 18" plain Zildjian crashes from the '50s/'60s, and if I want to find one I've used before, I can look for the code (obviously I note the code when I use the cymbal.)

I also have a database with every cymbal, and sound files for more than half of them. That lets me audition cymbals without having to physically access/compare them first. In many cases, I'm able to use the soundfile as a sample in a sequence, so even some of my programmed work includes my cymbals.

I want to make these. They seem really simple. I just need a saw. LoL... I figured these would have to have a dust cover as opposed to a window or something covering them.

This one is good. Thought checking the site, no available anymore?
