Man, I saw this video and I really think that he plays on the SAME drum than the one I have !! So, it's must be an around 1965's kit ? Thanks for the link !!
Hollywood "President" by Meazzi - Part 3
Hello, can you tell me how your Meazzi Hollywood set sounds. I am really intererested in buying one.
thanks
Meazzi Hollywood COB Snare (1969) / Premier Royal Ace snare (1968) / ASBA Copper Snare (1980) / Rogers Dynasonic snare (1967) .
Claws have always been a problem with these kits. They tend to break without notice. Chet Falzerano told me once that during a gig with his President kit he got hit in the face by a claw that suddenly broke.
I'm Italian and if any of you needs help please contact me and I'll see what I can do. I can find extra claws in a shop in Milan and keep my eyes open for other stuff. The Italian vintage market is still a good place for Meazzi stuff. I once found a matching snare for a guy in Germany. We are good friends now!
I also have many catalogues and I can send you pdf's. Otherwise you can find some at www.drumarchive.com
Antonio
Hey Antonio,
Is there much vintage action on this Italian drum forum?
Hi,
i'm so astonished...i have a president kit, LO wrap, but not in this excellent condition. It sounds very well but your kit is immaculate
i'm from italy and since i was teen i'd love the president set
some hollywood drummers: Max Roach, John Marshall (soft machine), Roger Taylor (Queen) Jack De Johnette (do you remember the amazing president export model?) etc.
Italians didn't imagine that these drumset was so innovative and excellent so that's why is not easy to catch one set in good conditions. Italians prefers gretsch or ludwig then Meazzi, and didn't hear that it was at the same levelClapping Happy2

Rullo...Come va ? ;) You should just e-mail Toni directly (click on his username on this thread and there's a link to e-mail him). He's a good guy, he hooked me up with some Meazzi replacement parts a while back....but best to contact him via e-mail, he doesn't come here very often ;)
