Help...How Vintage is My First Paiste? Last viewed: 5 days ago

Loading...

I just purchased this 18" 2002 crash and don't know how to date it. The stamp is really faint and the image is a bit blurry. The cymbal sounds great and is a great addition to my others!

Paid $175 incl shipping. Did I over pay?

Thanks a bunch for any thoughts,

Brian

...based on the first digit of the serial number which is how they were encoded at that time.

Paiste-Only is a good source of information on all things Paiste. This is the wiki entry about serial numbers, although some refining of the start of serial numbers has happened since that entry. If you follow up the info there you will see that it mentions "about 1973" as the start of the serial numbers.

Thanks for the wiki referral. That's the most concise info I've seen.
