Hi,I'm new here but I just picked up a 1927 Ludwigold 28" Bass Drum (gold hardware) with a set of Temple blocks and a Chinese tom.I was wondering if anyone knew if these are collectable or approx value?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help

Welcome to the VDF. your ludwig outfit dates from the late 20's, It is a nice historic find, the drum usually sales in the $200.00 the trap table $200.00 + range, and the temple blocks $200.00 + range. also check this link to the history of the drum and outfit. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_sets/1929-ludwig-drum-sets-3.jpg

Spot on assessment. I would only add that the hand painted front head is a seriously collectible piece. Those can get up there at times.

yes more than likely the head could be repaired, but the cost to do so would probably exceed the value of the head. the bass drum and the heads and the condition they are in is why I stated around $200.00 value, the chinese tom go toward $100.00 +
