Help with scale to weigh cymbals

Loading...

I have around 10 cymbals I'm planning on selling soon and want to get accurate weights. Can anyone recommend a scale that is accurate in metric and won't break the bank? There seems to be a few kitchen scales that go up to 5 kgms or so, but a recommendation would be appreciated.

I just bring mine to the post office. My local POs have scales in the lobby that you can use without having to wait in line...and it's free. Yes Sir I'm only a mile from the PO, though. May not be ideal if you're not close to one.

been covered quite a bit.http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=12814&highlight=scale

the one here in Canada for around 10.00 , should be available under another brand name, in the U.S. Google Starfrit 5kg. scale to get a picture of it. I've used one for a while and it works very well.

Just do a search for Postal Scales on eBay. I bought mine for like $20 a year and 1/2 ago and it was the best thing I could have purchased...especially for getting shipping quotes and such at home. Mine goes up to like 50 lbs and can switch from grams to lbs, etc.

Pricier but I bought it as a Christmas gift for my wife. ;)

Oxo Good Grips for $50 from Bed, Bath and Beyond or Amazon.

The readout portion separates which makes it easier to read the weight on the larger cymbals.

I bought the OXO at my local Bed Bath and Beyond today. Used a 20% off coupon, so it was less painful. Works really well. A very good multi-purpose scale. It even weighed letters for postage correctly. Scales are in grams and pounds as you know. Cymbals balanced perfectly upside down on their bells, and the extension made seeing the weight of 22" easy. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
