I Just bought this 1963 Hollywood set on Spakling Gold pearl wrap. The overall condition of the shells is excellent but the wrap has faded a lot. I tried shampoo, car wax and buffering compound to no avail. Any input, any trick, any helping hand will be much appreciated!!!!
Help with LUDWIG Sparkling Gold Pearl finish please

Nice drum, but that is some Grade A fade. I dont know if anything can be done about that. I'll be interested to hear what the experts have to say.
Looks like someone parked that thing in front of their window in Arizona for 35 years. Maybe it's a candidate for a re-wrap if you cant live with it? Again, that's still a very cool drum.
Yeah. I'd hate to have to rewrap it. The fade its "so there". Ive heard about a guy on Feebay who's Id is : Ivanhunter who specialize in this kind of tasks...anyone knows anything about his method?

Ivan lives out in my neck of the woods. He does outstanding work...but, I'm not sure about this kind of work. You might want to call and ask him. He's at http://www.arkansasdrumworks.com/
Check him out if you like.
