Help me date newly acquired Zildjians

Loading...

Just a acquired a beautiful set of some older Zildjians. The stamp (see pic) on all of them measure 1" 3/16's and appear to have the smaller early 60's stamp but I was hoping one of the resident experts could confirm. They are in very very good shape and the previous owner has been cleaning them and doing a good job of it.

Also I'm interested in anyone placing an relative value on them:

14" Hi-Hats > both bottom and top are quite thin

16" Crash on the medium-thin side of things

18" Crash on the medium-thin side of things

22" Ride medium to medium-heavy (beautiful dryish tone)

All of them have no issues at all!! I mean they are gorgeous!! I'm so psyched!!

The one that you showed us is late 1950's.

How is that conclusion drawn, what makes it stand out as late 50's verses early 60's?

Thanks!!!

The lack of the 3 dots, the thickness of the text "Avedis Zildjian Co", and the not-so-exact lathing.

Thanks guys, as usual this place (forum) is a wealth of accurate information. I still cannot believe I found these. You should here the 16 and 18" crashes they are amazing and the ride too. The hi-hats are very very thin both top and bottom does not really fit my playing style not sure what to do with them yet.

Thanks again!!!!
