Help Me Choose A Wrap for Early 70's Slingerlands

Loading...

Hi everyone. I really can't make up my mind between Ginger or Grey glass glitter for an early 70's Slingerland restoration project that I'm finally getting around to finishing. The set currently is wrapped with original Red Glass Glitter but it's in pretty bad shape. Tons of scratches, cracks, and honestly, I'm not a huge fan of red. Anyway, I made a poll that you can vote on. Let me know what your choice is! Thanks!

I choose Grey glass glitter, Just keep in mind with this not being a vintage slingerland color your resale value will suffer, But if this a keep for a long time kit then this is a great looking color.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Yup, well aware neither is original. Not planning on selling this kit for the foreseeable future. Definitely treating it as a nice players kit and not a museum piece. Thanks for the feedback!

Its gonna be a nice one, I did the same thing with the spurs on a Ludwig kit that I restored for a player kit. Those Gibraltar spurs are solid.

Thank you!

I had a custom snare drum wrapped in Grey Glass Glitter. Nice enough looking, but really didn't sparkle the way I thought it might. Recently received some glass glitter samples from Precision Drum for a snare shell I want to wrap. The Ginger glitter really pops under lights! Wow! I also have a sample of Pewter Glitter. Just a shade darker than Ginger. Very nice, but not as reflective as Ginger. Just depends on what you're looking for and how "flashy" you want the finish to be. Good luck!

+1 on the ginger, seen it in person and it's a heart-breaker!
