Help me categorize 60's (German?) drums

Loading...

Hello,

I found this old drum-set 20" 12" in Berlin/Germany. It's made of 5-ply maple/birch? The foil looks like "blue oyster", someone told me it was an old Sonor.

I'd appreciate any help about the brand, the year, value or any further information...

A 6 lug 20" kick drum? Well they really aren't lugs but act more like fishing pole eyes to guide the long T-rod from one end to the other. They seem extremely "economically" built to me.

They do look cool though.

Mikey missed the slothead tension screws. Pretty good clue.

Congrats. Cool kit! Bill D.

At that time even Sonor Teardrop had only 6 lugs on the BD. . The American versions had 8 lugs. . . . .

TROMSA is not Eastern but West German manufacturer - you confuse it to eastern TROWA (partly often similar in some models).

Khm-mm... :)

SONOR had both of versions - 6 and 8 lugs.

Mikey didn`t miss nut`n,...I`m leaning twords copy myself,...the green one has different claws than the red one,..very close but different,..looks like a copy to me !!

HOWEVER,..I saw the Hi Hat stand and now I`m on a mission,..it looks like mine that I`ve been try`n to identify !! It`s close and mine may be older or a copy,..but I`m now as close as ever to get`n to the bottom of my HH !!

The green drum has a center mount and the red one is offset,..like a SONOR of the same era !!,..It`s not SONOR or it would have SONOR on it !! (Everywhere !!)
