Greetings,
I picked up this kit for a good price. Sizes are 12/14/18. I'm trying to determine which model or series they were. There is no identifying information anywhere except the Premier badges. The badges say they are made in England (which we all know), which I assume is at least good, as they weren't really low level Premiers made in China or Taiwan. I know they probably aren't high end either, due to the lack of a suspension mount on the rack tom and eye bolts on the tom/floor tom brackets. Aside from a little wear here and there, they are in very good shape. The spurs are not original, and there are a few extra holes where the old ones were, but not a deal breaker. Also, I know that it looks like the generic "Wine Red" wrap, but these are actually a lacquer finish. There is no seam anywhere on any drum, including where they may have hidden it under the long lugs (there is still no seam present between the end of the lug and the bearing edge on any of the shells). It has a bit of metallic hint to it, but it definitely is a lacquer and not a wrap.
What era would these be from (I'm thinking 90's or newer). Would these be considered APK's? XPK's? Something else? I just want to be able to learn more about my new find. Photo 3 shows the interior of the bass drum (figured the wood or grain might help in ID'ing them). Also, if it helps, the rack tom has one screw per lug attaching it to the shell, where the floor tom and bass drum have two screws per lug.
Thanks for your help!
V
