Help identifying Pearl Kit

Loading...

Hi there, I have an 80's Pearl kit but the stamps do not indicate that it is an export etc. It is a Taiwan made kit and I have owned it since around 1989. The original bass front skin says "Pearl International" on it. Its a pink 5 piece with a chrome snare. I would appreciate it if someone could help me identify what kit this is and maybe what the shells are composed of etc.

Thanks!!!

This is a Pearl International set, and it is sorta similar to today's Forum series in quality. They were the economy-line of drums by Pearl before the Export series came out, I believe.

I agree with these fine gentlemen-budget/student quality indicated by "press"as opposed to "clamp"tom mounts.Probably luan or luan painted with zolacote.

Donger - There are those same lugs and hardware that were on the kit I saved from the trash recently and created my Cocktail drum from. See the link below.

It took a while for this forum to give me the identity of my lugs and now you post these photos of the set and the hardware is a match. This forum is great!!! Sooner or later you folks provide all the correct answers.

Your posting has helped me now too. Thanks!Clapping Happy2

Thanks to all for your quick responses! I know its not a great kit but I wanted to be sure what it was before I attempted to sell.
