Help dating old Zildjian

Loading...

I came across an old Zildjian ride... 20 inches, about 1800 grams, small stand hole 7/16 inches / 11mm (won't fit modern stand), stamped logo says: MADE IN TURKEY (with the Turkish flag above), then Arabic script, then K. ZILDJIAN & Co., then ISTAMBUL, then finally ZILDJIAN all in about a 1 3/4 inch logo. It has rivet holes and some 2 other small hole in it (???). Trash or treasure? Thanks!

Here's the logo. No signature. Yes, Istanbul, not IstaMbul. My bad.

Definitely treasure! I don't know the exact date range of that stamp, but I'm thinking pre-1950. I'm not the cymbal trademark expert, though. Drumaholic will probably see this and let you know for sure.

Congrats!

Lynn, Thanks! I rock a set of '78 Slingerlands myself. Not exactly vintage but getting there (like myself).

Thanks for the accurate call 'Holic. From what else I have found, that sounds about right. Your expertise is appreciated.

Now, do I shelve it, play it, or sell it??? Hmmmm
