John Lennon December 08 1980 we lost a true musical genius!! I really miss him. a lot of his beliefs I absolutely don't subscribe to, but I love this mans musical ability, I was Interviewed by our Local Newspaper about what I thought about John Lennon etc, My response was my life was changed by this man and his band and his music at the raw age of seven years old!!This is an awesome song! Imagine! I can't believe it's been 30 years, already. I'm more amazed by how fast time has passed, than I ever was by his music; was never really a fan (post Beatles). Maybe I just never "got it" (?). Love the old stuff. RIP, JL.

i remember when i was on tour..

we were in N.Y.C. and my guitar (biggest Beatles fan i know) player insisted we go to the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park..and then visit the Dakota Apartments (where Lennon was shot) as soon as we got with in sight of the building he just stopped..and burst into tears.

it was/is the only time i've ever seen him cry. it was one of the saddest moments i've ever witnessed.

although not a huge Beatles fan myself..i knew what they/John meant to him.

R.I.P. John Lennon

p.s.

didn't he predict his own death?

i think i recall him saying something like "some weirdo will probably pop me off" ?
