Stencils are vintage drums that were Made in Japan in the 60`s and 70`s...Generally, Star (later to become Tama), Pearl, Hoshino, etc. manufactured drum shells and would put whatever badge and hardware the importer, music store, wholesaler, etc. would want on them...So, in a nutshell, there were 100`s of different badges put on the same drum shells...
These shells were made with luan (Asian mahogany) which typically had vertical grain...
Other members will probably chime in with more info...
Cheers

Does anyone want to check the stencil drum book? My copy is way upstairs!
Looks to be a mid-70's Hoshino build.

Hi - thank you very much for all the information. How much would that set be worth? It appears to be in reasonably good condition. The seller is asking about (converted from local currency) 450USD. Is there any collectors value in that kit? Thanks again
