Tonight, I will ring in the New Year, watching the Flaming Lips perform, live in it's entirety, "Dark Side Of The Moon"....

By the way, pre-lugs off restoration shots....

This little kit brought to you by kevins and jonnistix...I will be performing a lugs off restoration, and repair of some age related damage to the reinforcement rings, shell delamination, and some other stuff. Watch for a very informative step by step guide, for those of you that are just not sure how to go about some of these repairs, and for those that are old hands, critique will be dealt with swi...I mean, please, by all means, if I do or say something wrong, scold me....mildly, please.

Ah, Mike,, yes it did come today. It was in the music room. My little one assumed it was more drum parts.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to thank Mike T for a gift of music and a treat of untold delight! Mike, that is the absolute finest I have ever had! And the music won't to bad itself! BTW, the snare was not included, it is my MIJ Radio King. The snare will arrive soon. Kev didn't even know he had it coming, came a few hours after the kit shipped out. Kinda neat, they will match very nicely. If only I could afford that little Pioneer OldSchool has up on the block....that would be soooo sweet!

Honestly? I am lacking in appreciation for their musical stylings. However, after the "ball drop" They did a little stage reassignment and brought the opening act back as a large combo, and launched into a very sick redition of DSM. I could not have imagined where they took it, off the hook! Some of it was just way outta whack, and some was really outta this world. It was not a play along to be sure. I am certain it is already on youtube. Search it out, Flaming Lips Dark Side of the Moon, as there were many people recording it with iphones and every manner of unsavory device....

Time for shut eye, I can barely keep 'em open.
