No pun intended for sure! I am sure of many forum members that have crossed paths with a few other drummers by accident, or by fate...wanted to share my experience with you, as well as hear any stories you may have also.
Leaving Kansas last Sunday for Germany, I have an isle seat headed from Wichita into Chicago. A strapping young man needed me to move, as he had the window, but was carrying a (what appeared to be a soft guitar case) and was looking for overhead space. I took it from him, and placed it in the bin behind us, but it felt different. As a musician, you just GOTTA ask, right? He stated it was a banjo, but that he just messed around on it....he then stated, "I am a professional drummer by trade".....ding, ding, ding....I knew that my close to 2 hour flight was going to go very quickly, as we would be talking constantly. I then asked him....what kit do you play? He stated many different kinds, but his true love was his 60's Ludwig 22,13,16 classic for the studio, with a '63 Acrolite. Told me that the Acrolite was fantastic! I replied with some input as well as some photos I had on my phone...flight went very quickly! We exchanged cards, and wished each a safe trip. Just had the time to check out his website...and very interesting.
