Gretsch SSB1

Hi

I’m curious as to why there seems to be lots of round badge wooden Gretsch snares for sale, yet the SSB 1’s wooden snares don’t come up very often and when they do they are pricey, in a lot of cases more than the round badge snares. Is it rarity did they not make many ?

yeah, I think in the Brooklyn RB era attention was paid to schools and student pacs ( which could include an 8 lug (8L) Renown... By Arkansas in flummox attention towards school pacs high school marching may have waned... So Yes. In fact can see the student suitcase pacs kinda faded (none) in the 1977 catalog etc but plenty in the 66 cat.
