Gretsch Silver Sparkle.......late 60's Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Hi

Merry Christmas!

Does anyone here know where I might find enough Silver Sparkle (Looks like Glitter but is listed Slvr Spkl in 60's catalogs) to cover a SSB#1 Series 8x12 Gretsch tom?

I did put an request in the Wanted section here but thought some would not see it - Hope you don't mind it here too.

Thanks,

Cheers,

Gary

Merry Christmas to you, too!

Maybe someone has a piece for you. Give it some time for others to respond, as many may already be celebrating and may take a bit of time to get online. You know how that goes... too much spiked eggnog!

Forgot to mention that if it is an actual Glass Glitter, no one is really making a "silver" glitter. Delmar's latest iteration of Silver Glass Glitter looks terrible. Both Precision Drum Company and Jammin Sam said there is nothing they can do about this. Bummer!

Santa has just made the rounds....in our home...........can't believe it = the year went buy in a flash!

Some of what was called Sparkle in the past is what we now consider Glitter. Glitter being irregular pieces of sparkle and Sparkle (Gretsch sparkle anyway) has Hexigon pieces. My drum is listed as Sparkle in the Gretsch catalogs when the drum was made but it is definately made with irregular (Glitter-like) pieces of sparkle.

I'm looking for someone that has taken the wrap off a 66-69 Gretsch drum (damaged wrap off a bd or ft maybe) and may want to sell it. I like some of the modern Sparkle and Glitter wraps but if I can't find some era-correct wrap I will leave the drum the way it is.
