just saw this on craigslist today, seems like a gem

GRETSCH Vintage Aqua Flame Drum - $3600 (Crafton)

For sale is a set of GRETSCH Aqua flames drums from the 1960's. This set includes the hard-to-find snare drum. We are not musicians so we are selling the set "as is". The surface has some obvious wear and some crazing to the finish in some places. It needs to be seriously cleaned.

On the base there are two missing brackets (see pic) but they can easily be replaced.

The heads are in good to fair condition.

Interestingly on the equivalent ebay sale there is a chance they can be had in the price range you quote, especially as there is local pick up only. I'd pay someone $100 plus packaging materials and shipping of course to pick them up locally and send them to me if I could get them in the current ebay price range.

We also find out it's a prog jazz configuration on the ebay listing...I was fooled on this point by the pics. I thought Name Band.

I saw that same set on ebay today with a starting bid of 1500.00 with no bids yet!! I guess somebody must have had a little chat with them.....lol
