So I know there's a ton of fuss over the MS Strainer. High prices for replacements, accusations of inflated prices, too few around, etc.
I'm interested in the single point butt-plate adjustment side. Not the more problematic player's side throw-off.
This would work perfectly for the butt-plate side of several vintage drums that I play a lot, and would make some snare response far more consistent.
From the pictures I've seen it seems like a very simple design. Does anyone have one of these they don't use? Is there someone that makes a reproduction unit (maybe the same guys that make the arm repro)? Or is there another similar design that would fit the bill for the same need?
Most importantly, I can only judge the operational capability from the pictures. Do these have as many problems as the other strainer?
Thanks guys!
