I was over posting on the "wanted to buy" thread looking for a spring screw and spring lock nut for a Gretsch floating action pedal that I bought in pieces. I used pictures over there and kdg was kind enough to point out that the beater hub casting was on backwards (maybe set up for like a cocktail drum).
Oh happy day....
I took the nut off of the non-spring side of the hub axle (my words) and could not remove the hub (hex shaped part) so I can turn around the hub casting and run the leather strap the right way. All I can see are ball bearings in a housing and it won't budge...
First time working a pedal like this. What's the trick??
If this procedure has been rehashed on here before, sorry-I can't seem to find a thread.
If it's lengthy to explain, go right ahead. Never too much info for an all-thumbs guy like me. I'm also open to help by phone if someone wanted to talk me through it.
This is the final step in the Gretsch Name Band SSB rehab project. Needs to be DONE!
I threw in a tasty little pic of the set to entice your mercy!!!!!
