Gretsch COB OOR

Loading...

So, I have had this shell for a year or so.

I pulled it out of a friends attic.

I worked on it some initially but moved on to putting the hardware from it on a wooden shell of the same vintage.

This thing had a nice dent/crimp in the bottom side of the shell.

I guess someone dropped it long ago.

I would really like to get this thing back together and playable.

I read this thread on how to straighten a shell.

I am going to give this a whirl.

Pushing and pulling has done some good but I still can't get a head on it.

I used a piece of wood and a hammer to get some of the crimp out of the bearing edge.

I'm getting closer but this thing is being tough.

The 4th pic is where I'm at right now.

I am looking for any tips or pointers that you guys can give. :D

The batter side of this shell is round.

The snare side is not.
