Where the 60's Gretsch bass drum spurs made of aluminum or steel? I've seen both versions on Ebay claimed to be Gretsch. Also with threaded ends/pointed & some just pointed.

my round badge kit has aluminum spurs as does every 60s RB kit I have ever seen.
also in the catalogs from the 60s they state "spur rods of polished aluminum alloy "

Aw man! I've got two Grestch catalogs (#40 & #43) that I aquired this morning. Skimmed right past that "polished alum alloy" part! DOH Thanks for the reply!

If you're missing the spurs, just head to your local hardware store and pick up a rod of aluminum stock. Cut, polish, install some rubber feet and you're good to go. You'll have some leftover stock, just in case you lose another spur.
