I used my good ole trusty Shure Sm 57 until I won a Earthworks Sr25. Wow!! it's a high definition mic, Keith Carlock uses them exclusively listen to anything with him, the sound quality is supurb.

actually, my choices are neumann KM184, shure SM7 or mxl V6 silicon valve...

An AKG 452 or the newer 451B is my first choice.
A good economical hat/ride mic(s) is the stereo pair of Rode NT-5's...kinda like a little brother to the Neumann KM-184.
