Going from small ludwig lugs to large

Loading...

Hello,

Tried looking for this info on the site but didn't find anything exactly related to my question.

I have a Ludwig drum with small classic lugs and would like to install the larger Ludwig lugs. Is there any way of doing so by using one of the holes already there for the small lugs and drilling another hole for the larger ones or are the holes just too close?

Anyone done this before? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

It can be done, but i wouldn't go through all that trouble.. You'll end up ruining the original state of the drum, and even with drilling, the end result may not come out right.. Just my 2 cents ;).

I'm sure there are other forum members who can give the proper guidance for this type of job..

Have to agree with human71. Leave things alone. Just an opinion.

Always a good decision to leave drums in their original state, unless in need of some serious repair..

My kit consists of a 12" rack tom with small classic lugs and they look great with the rest of the kit having large classic lugs..
