Gluing metal to wood?

I can see on YouTube that Mister Glue is some pretty good glue for gluing metal to wood. I can't find that product here in BC Canada. Doesn't mean it's not available but so far I can't find a retail supplier here.

I want to glue some small metal parts onto an old drum shell. Anyone here...... in Canada...... that has done that and is happy with the outcome?

There's probably a lot of products out there that can do the job but it looks like Mister Glue may be what I'm looking for.

But, if there's a product out there (other than Gorilla Glue) that would be good please let me know.

Gorilla Glue is a good product but I don't want to use it because you have to 'clamp' it to use it properly and I can't do that in this situation. Gorilla Glue expands up to 3x too so you have to be very careful using it.

I just want to place the small items - add a small amount of pressure - and be done with it. Mister Glue may fit the bill. Other superglues are not suitable for my project.

I have some tacks I removed from a 60's Gretsch cocktail drum. I'm painting the shell and i thought I'd add the heads of the tacks. Most of the tacks broke off when I removed them from the drum. I thought the daisy-type tack heads might look good/different.....adding some 'gwelry' to the look. I haven't made a final decision on it but I thought I'd start the process and look at some glue. I just now thought I may not want to use a Mister Glue because if I ever wanted to remove the tack heads it would take the outer ply with them.

I reckon buy some new tacks with a similar head... Drive them in right next to the originals... (Now you don't want a "tacky" job do you)..

Haha John. I have lots of tacks but I have these original small headed daisy Gretsch (original to this drum) tacks that I want to use. I will most likely end up repainting the drum (again) anyway. It really doesn't matter what I put on the drum in that case I guess as long as I don't rip pieces of the outer ply off when removing stuff I stick on there. Plumber's putty might even work. I've used it when tacking Round Badges on toms.....a little under the tack holds it firmly to the badge. that's 'tacky' John
