This is a lovely sounding, rare collector's drum, as used by Dennis Chambers (see Buddy Rich memorial concerts on youtube - he has it tuned very high and funky). This is the drum that Bob Armstrong had on his kit when I took lessons with him in the 90s, and I fell in love with it then. Of course, they don't make these anymore and you rarely see them come up for sale; but I'm not putting it to much use at the moment so I'd rather see it go to someone who is going to use it - I can assure you you won't be disappointed.

The Custom Classic snare has a unique sound because the shell is one piece, rather than ply. I would describe it as warm, yet biting in a most pleasing way.

The drum is in excellent condition, with no buckling or distortion in the wood or hardware. There are a few small spot wear and tear marks on the top hoop, but these are barely visible unless you get close up, and certainly not visible to an onlooker.

It's a versatile drum that responds well to different tunings. Tune it low for a fat backbeat sound - great for some hip hop styles. Medium tuning for rock and jazz. High tunings for jazz, funk, dance, worldbeats, drum and bass etc

It comes pretuned with an almost new Evans coated head on top (equivalent of Remo Ambassador Coated Batter head), and a clear Remo Amassador head on the bottom. The snare is a nice 20 strand Puresound. The snare mechanism is the original Pearl, which has a very smooth non-fussy action.
