FS: Camco Oaklawn 20-12-14 in Peacock Sparkle

Loading...

Hi Folks,

I'm pleased to offer my Camco Oaklawn 20-12-14 Tuxedo kit in Peacock Sparkle. It's been a joy to own and play, but it's just time for something new.

I bought this kit from Steve Maxwell in 2011. I believe I registered on this site at that time when I was in research mode. I can't speak for every bolt and rod, but it is my understanding that the kit is mostly original. Wrap is in great condition with no lift. Interiors are painted white. The only issue I can see is one of the bass drum spurs appears to be rotating backward a bit from the constant forward pressure while played (see photo). I also have the original heads and cymbal arm, which will of course be included in the sale.

Overall these drums are in great condition, and they sound lovely. This is the 3rd Camco kit I've owned since the early 90's, and they are as versatile and beautiful sounding as the others I've owned. I will be happy to communicate with potential buyers and provide detailed photos and descriptions. On that note, I've spent enough time on other forums to know that newbies offering high ticket items on their first post are regarded with suspicion. So please know that I will do my best to provide references that will put potential buyers at ease.

For starters, my ebay username is clams! (w/ exclamation point) with 100% positive feedback since 2003.

I am asking $3950 or best reasonable offer. I would prefer to keep this sale within the continental US, and I will work with the buyer to determine fair shipping costs. I am more concerned with finding an appreciative home for these drums than I am with a quick sale.

Please feel free to contact me via PM or grantweber AT gmail DOT com and we'll go from there.

Thanks for looking,

-Grant

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I don't see any photos of this set. Where are they?

I applaud your courage in admitting you don't see the photos. I don't see the set on eBay either.

Oooo, they just appeared. Evidently you have to stay on this thread for awhile in order for the large photos to download to the site.

Hey Grant. I cannot find photos of this set on Ebay. How about you just post them here? If you can't, get in touch with TommyP or another member who can help you.

Adding the photos as attachments is not rocket science. Any of you could have done it.

I never realized Camco called that Peacock Sparkle. I've learned something else about vintage drums.
