Fraud on Ebay

Loading...

A few minutes ago, I was stunned to see this ad using my photo of my drum.

http://cgi.ebay.com/...42#ht_500wt_763

This is the photo:

I immediately sent the seller this message:

Dear tsnave,

You are using my photograph of my drum in your ad. I consider

that you are committing fraud and I intend to file a complaint with

Ebay.

On returning to the ad, I found the photo had been removed...quick work on the seller's part.

Of course, I might never have caught it if I hadn't by chance been surfing "see similar items".

This happens a lot and is very common.

Usually the account has been taken over or hacked into.

An email to eBay takes care of it pretty quick.

Ron, I wonder how many times this seller has done this in the past?, Like you aren't gonna recognize your own photo!!!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

The whole auction has been removed.

Best way to prevent this in the future is to photoshop in someting to the photo, such as "photo property of____" or something to that extent. If that's in there, its less likely for someone to snag your pics.

I had someone once describe an item as being "close to what this sounds like" and they used a YouTube video of mine without my persmission. I quickly sent them a note saying I didn't like that they used it without contacting me and was met with the response, "So What". I deleted the video shortly after their last email.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
