Found a Ludwig 14x22 stainless steel bass drum (finally)

Ever since my first Ludwig stainless steel kick got smashed in a car wreck, I've been on the search for a budget replacement to restore. After 2+ years, I've finally found a 14" x 22" at a great price on eBay, and I've removed all the hardware to clean up the shell. Any advice from the SS fans on methods for cleaning and re-assembling? If I'm not mounting any toms, is there any reason to install the reinforcement plate? Are lug gaskets a good idea for stainless?

Luckily, I saved all my cleaned & felt-packed lugs from my old kick so the hardware work is mostly done! Plus, I have Lone Star Percussion in my area, so getting parts will be a breeze. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Here it is all put together! I left the reinforcement plate out, and went without gaskets on the lugs. It sounds great!

Hey Spacemanbill,

Your kit looks great, the bass seems to be in good condition and shining nicely. Glad to see you were finally able to replace the damage bass.
