I got this FT tonight. The kid said it was a ludwig. When I got there I knew it wasn't right away by the lugs. There is no vent hole where a badge would be. I was thinking Rogers? But no paper or sign of a paper inside. The stamp inside is messed up because there is a "P" stamped over the year part of the stamp (all I can see is APR). The "P" made me think Slingerland because the other slingerlands I just got had a "P" in them. Confused rookie here! I hope not a Japanese knock off or the like! Anyone?

Maybe I should put the pics up with it!?! Sorry!
Those lugs are Slingerland (or an MIJ copy). Slingerland didn't put badges on toms until the mid 60's, so this might explain why you don't see one. Can you post a picture of the interior... curious if it has maple or mahogany interior, reinforcement rings, and muffler. Could be a nice find. Good luck!

Here are a few more pics! Thanks!
That looks like a slingerland to me,stick saver hoops, probably maple int, like James said early 60's drums toms and floors did not have badges. The P means that the drum was supposed to recieve a pearl covering or wrap, slingerland was the only company to do this as far as I know. The floor tom legs mounts look right to me also. That finish is called blue satin flame and was offered from 1964 -1978.Don't call me on it but I think badges on the toms started in 1967,I would date your drum from 1964 to 1966.
The grain's goin' the right way--most MIJ drums have vertical grain veneer interiors, I believe......marko
Slingerland! Now you have to find the rest of the kit.
Nice Drum.
Deffinetly a 60's Slingerland. Lugs, straight legs, leg mounts, maple inside,P and a date. And stick saver hoop.
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
Sweet - very nice find indeed! I second lucky's thought - now you need to find the rest of that kit :).
