Does anyone know a way of converting a 16x16 floor into a kick drum without buying one of those converter kits?
Floor Tom Conversion
this worked for me, pick up a couple of cheap floor tom legs, bend them to shape of Ludwig gull-wing spurs, cut the ends off, and grind to a point on end. on the beater side I used a piece of hard wood long enough to reach two lugs on the drum, and high enough to place beater in center of drum, cut a small curve to fit the drum, and place two small straps on block that can be attached to the two lower lug tenthion rods, you will also need a metal right angle bracket on the lower bottom of the block to attach pedal.

Burgundy,
Very creative. Do you have any pics?

^ no, drum long gone.
You can just buy two L arms (used for things like mounting cow bells) and use them for your legs. You just need the correct diameter for your FT mounts. I had some spare rubber tips so this is shown with one. Front done:

For the back this one has a bought riser, but yes you can do something along the lines of what Burgundy describes.
