Same here. Except I wear socks. I get a better feel without shoes and with socks I can slide a bit on the pedals to do doubles, etc.

Me three! Only ever play with socks on. I agree about the boxing gloves comparison - I feel I'm in direct contact with the pedal with just socks on. I'll always make sure to wear my weirdest socks at my band's shows because my shoes always come off. My bandmates actually started doing that, too - so it's become a thing for us to play without our shoes on! The pictures I attached all feature my bare feet and/or my shoes Excited The Band
