I picked up a pack of Evans G2 clear batters (12,13, 16,14sd) with EQ4 bass batter for real cheap today - so I thought I would try them. I usually use a combo of Ambassador/Emperors for batter/resonant heads. Any recommendations for what resonant heads to use with these on a 1977 Ludwig Big beat kit?

I have tried the Evans reso heads and found them too thin.

I recently bought a black bass one for a project I'm completing, and at first glance I'm thinking the same thing as its a 7.5mil head as opposed to a 10mil head like a G1. Only time will tell on this one I guess.....

Ambassador or G1, either one would be fine. I've never gone any thinner on the reso's than that.

the drum tuning bible says identical heads on a drum will give you the most resonance. i've had the chance to try it once, and it worked on that kit. that was coated ambassadors
