Nice drum - I'm watching this one. The 14's are a little harder to come by. If it was 3ply I think $2K or more would not be unreasonable. I hope the seller gets this price or close to it as I do think it's worth it. Gretsch has removed their price list information from their website - or at least I can't see it in Canada. When I bought my Custom USA 14.14 Champagne wrapped floor tom in a Vintage build-out in 2011 it was close to $2000. So if you want the Vintage late 50's early 60's one here it probably is not out of line at the price asked.

What exactly makes this drum so expensive? I suppose being in pristine condition would be one thing, but it says this drum shows signs of use. Is it incredibly rare or is it just something about Gretsch?

My confusion aside, it sure is a beautiful drum.
