Early 70's Slingerland Kit with Ludwig Acrolite

Loading...

Hi Folks,

For sale ($1,000) is an early 70's Slingerland kit in Light Blue Pearl with a 70's 5x14 Ludwig Acrolite snare drum (snare stand not included). The sizes are 14"x20", 8"x12", 9"x13", and 16"x16". All of the drums are Slingerland's 3 ply shell (maple, poplar, mahogany) with reinforcing hoops and have that great warm vintage tone. The kit is in excellent condition and I spent countless hours cleaning and polishing the 20, 12, and 16 (I only play four drums so I didn't touch the 13).

There are new heads on the 20" bass drum (Remo clear Powerstroke III on batter, Aquarian smooth white Force II on resonant), 12" mounted tom (Remo coated emperor on batter, Remo clear ambassador on resonant), and 16" floor tom (Remo coated emperor on batter, Remo clear ambassador on resonant). The 13" tom has a new Aquarian medium American Vintage head on the batter and the original Slingerland coated head on the resonant side.

All of the chrome is nice except for the resonant side hoop of the 13" tom which probably should be replaced. The wrap is in excellent to mint condition (please note that half the inlay is missing on the batter side bass drum hoop). It has changed over the years and is now more of a blue/gray color and is absolutely stunning. I have many of the original Slingerland heads including the front logo head for the bass drum and will include them. Also included are the bass drum spurs, double tom mount, and floor tom legs.

Please email with any questions. I will ship to the lower 48 US States for $125 including insurance, or they can be picked up if you are local, or I am willing to drive a reasonable distance to deliver them (again if you are in MA).
