Ray not a bad price for the badge. If you've been looking a long time it's worth it to me. How are those wood grommets attached to the shell? Are they 2 pc or just a snug press fit 1 pc? Hope your buddy can make one for you. Cool project~! Glenn.
Duplex badge (and wooden grommet). Well I have to try.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
Good to know that I didn't overpay too much. I'm buds with Shawn M and he's offered to get me the info I need in order have it made. I think my other friend will be up to the challenge of doing this. Especially since it is a drum made here in St. Louis.
Doing a google image search, it looks like to me that some how they were one piece. BUT, I did find a pic that looks like that they maybe put a one piece over the badge. I don't believe it was original, but that's ok. It looked great to me and if that's what I have to do to make it work, I'm good with that too. I'm just stoked to get the wheels rolling on this thing.
Problem is, rehabbing the house has to come first. Toilet
its a one piece grommet (wooden) that holds the "badge" onto the shell.
Sorry Ray got tied up with other stuff this weekend, I haven't forgotten you!
No sweat Shawn. I probably will not even get the badge until the end of the week. My friend got back to me with a $20 or so for the grommet which seems fair since he's making it from scratch. I'll have about $200 in it when its finished. I believe its all there otherwise.
Thanks folks. I'm looking forward to getting this drum restored.
Ray, I sent you pics and measurements today.
Should be really and I do mean REALLY easy to make up.
Oh, and show some pics of the drum you got!
